Did you know?
As a parent who has a child with learning differences, or as a professional working with LD children, you are probably well aware of the challenges your child faces in an ordinary classroom. You may also realize the individualized nature of learning differences - each LD child has a unique profile of difficulty which requires a tailored educational response.
What you may not know, is that your LD child is not alone - 20 to 30 percent of all school-age children have a learning disability. As a result, there is a growing need for more resources to teach students with learning differences more effectively.

The Providence Journal has run a number of articles on a variety of learning differences. The Monday, January 26, 2004 issue included an interesting dyslexia article in the "Lifebeat" section. The Sunday supplement, "Lifestyle," also runs a regular feature called,"Parent to Parent." Recent articles appeared on AD/HD and sensory integration (a core issue addressed by our "Coming to Our Senses" workshop series).
