Welcome to Highlander Dunn Institute.

The Highlander-Dunn Institute (Dunn) is a non-profit community of educators and professionals working to improve the educational experience of students who struggle with learning. Our methods are based in the latest research and best practices from universities and research centers across the country.

Our services are directed at both students and educators and focused on helping students gain ground in language, reading, and math. Over the last decade, we have worked with hundreds of students and thousands of educators across New England.

After School Tutoring:
Dunn Celebrates Students' Impressive Achievements: In 2009 - 2010, Dunn supported 300 students across Rhode Island and Massachusetts through an 11-week after school tutoring program. Participants increased their vocabulary scores by 95% and their comprehension skills by 86%. READ MORE »

Brad Dunn

Brad Dunn was a happy, multi-talented child whose interest in school deteriorated as an undiagnosed language-based learning difference prevented him from learning to read. Brad's academic failure contributed to his depression and tragic, untimely death.

Hoping to impact the heartbreaking life trajectory of children like Brad, the Dunn family chose to honor him with a generous multi-year donation to the fledgling Dunn Institute.
